Naval Group India plays a vital role in ensuring the reliable supply of spare parts and maintenance support for the P-75 Scorpène® submarines operated by the Indian Navy.

Our objective is to maintain the highest standards of operational readiness, safety, and performance by ensuring timely availability of quality spares for critical systems and equipment.

Naval Group India manages the complete lifecycle (based on request) of spare parts required for the maintenance and overhaul of submarine machinery systems, and onboard equipment’s. These spares include high-usage and wear-and-tear components that must be replaced periodically to prevent breakdowns and ensure mission readiness. Our core capabilities in this domain includes the following.

Inventory management: efficiently maintaining an optimal inventory of spare parts to ensure immediate availability when needed, while reducing excess stock that ties up capital and storage space.

Forecasting and planning: using data-driven forecasting models to predict demand based on operational cycles, usage patterns, and maintenance schedules ensuring timely procurement and availability of critical submarine spares.

Quality control: strict quality assurance and inspection processes ensure that every spare part meets OEM specifications, maintaining the performance and reliability of P-75 Scorpène® systems.

Warehouse management: implementation of an advanced warehouse management system (WMS) to monitor stock levels, track usage history and trigger automated reorder alerts to prevent shortages.

Cost optimisation: achieving the right balance between inventory holding costs and operational efficiency, thereby minimising the risk of downtime due to unavailability of critical parts.
